Weekly Update - SNUGGLE PUPPY, A Real Date, DIY Laundry Soap

WHAT A WEEK! If anyone is actually reading this...be prepared for PICTURE OVERLOAD.

Sunday we attempted a Halloween treat ding-dong ditch at Grammy and Grandpa's...but CHARLEY TOTALLY RAN AFTER AND CAUGHT ME. Stink bum. Guess my running shoes weren't fast enough.

Visited with them for a bit and Marli decided to share her partially digested cookie with Grandpa...

OWNED Tama and Mark at Rook this week. We may or may not owe them Salt n' Straw ice cream...but THEY OWE US DINNER

NEW FOODS THIS WEEK:

Cantaloupe, steamed carrots & broccoli, chicken, apples...

SHE'S DISCOVERED THE DOOR FLINGER. It may have even replaced the coolness of my red water bottle...

Lots of FaceTiming with Daddy as always...

With med school expenses coming up, I've been brainstorming (i.e. "researching" on Pinterest) ways to save extra money. Got together with Mica and Hillary (and their kiddos) and made some cleaners and laundry detergent. The laundry stuff smells AMAZING.

Isn't it BEAUTIFUL?! The pink cheese is grated soap! And I HAD to add these Gain smelly things. Hillary once washed a sweatshirt of mine that I let her borrow for one of her kids, and she returned it to me smelling SO WONDERFULLY that I put off washing it! IT WAS GAIN FABRIC SOFTENER. I LOVE IT.

Made these frozen breakfast burritos for Evan to microwave before leaving for work in the morning, and they've been a HUGE HIT. Not to mention they're probably more nutritional than his traditional fastbreak and mountain dew hehe. Any recipe with TOTS has to be a winner, right?!

I knew living by Mica and her little one would be fun. What I didn't know was HOW HEAVENSENT THEY WOULD BE IN MY LIFE. There was a day this week that was just hard. Marli is still insisting on 23 minute naps, even while implementing the "program" Evan got for us. (Nights, by the way, are INCREDIBLE. She sleeps 11-13 hours EVERY SINGLE SOLITARY NIGHT. UNBELIEVABLE.)
I texted Mica asking if we could join her on ANY errands she might have, just to get us out of the house, and she took us to the Children's Museum AND Costco. TRUE FRIENDSHIP.

Guess who can PULL HERSELF UP in her crib now?!

Boy, oh boy...

Got to meet up with Nan and Pop and some members of their ward for Olive Garden. Marli sat at the head of the table and enjoyed feeding herself bits of everybody's food...especially croutons and andes mints...

If all the world expressed excitement the way Marli does, it would be a much happier place.

I GOT TO GO ON A DATE! With JUST Evan! It felt SO WEIRD to be in the passenger seat in the Camry. We left once Marli was down for the night, and she didn't make a peep! THANK YOU MICA AND JOE!!

Got to finally use my birthday gift card from Evan on the most beautiful pair of running shoes...

And we finished with dessert at Cheesecake Factory with another gift card!

Met up with a friend for hot chocolate...

And got to see Nan and Pop FOR THE SECOND DAY IN A ROW. We lucky or WHAT?!

Get ready for a PHOTO DUMP...Had our ward's Trunk or Treat this weekend, and we went as puppies from the book Snuggle Puppy, by Sandra Boynton. No matter her level of tiredness or crankiness, Marli has ALWAYS listened intently to this book, and ONLY this book. And no...the characters in the book do not wear tutus... but it's Halloween and tutus are always an option on Halloween.

I LOVE how much of Marli's personality has come out lately, and you can really see it in some of the below pictures...I promise that if she looks like she might be crying in any of the pictures, she's really just VERY excited.

Mica and Avalie were grandmas. Don't you LOVE Avalie's hair?!

Evan's off in North Carolina for a med school interview, so it's just Marli and I for now. We've been taking advantage of the breaks in the rain to get outside and enjoy the fall colors while they still live on the trees.

Just because it's Monday...

Also...this. Because even though we've been apart from Evan only 24 hours, it somehow seems longer when we know he's on THE OTHER SIDE OF THE COUNTRY...love these two pairs of feet.
