Just LOOK at that handsome guy! Should hear back from this school in a week or so... while there are many things that we would love about going here, it is SO FAR. While Evan was interviewing I found his location on the "Find My Friends" app, and zoomed out until I could see both his and mine in the same picture...COMPLETE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE COUNTRY!
While Evan was gone showing up for his life and his family, Marli and I escaped to Grammy's house to play for a few days! She LOVES Uncle Charley!
Of course dress-ups had to happen with Halloween around the corner...teddy bear and "Aunt Lolly's sidekick" haha
Want to capture and remember this thing Marli does when she's excited about something...
Fun meals this week for baby! Rib bones and deconstructed hamburgers...
Daddy even shared his chips when we joined him on his lunch break!
Pumpkin scouting at Al's w/Grammy and Charley...
And THIS is what Charley went as for Halloween! SO MANY people did double takes and asked if it was real...or comfortable...or how it smelled...
Just because she's the cutest...even when the picture is blurry.
Cutest little snuggle puppy around!
WHAT A TREAT it was to celebrate Halloween with Grammy (ahem - Snow White!) and Charley. We trick-or-treated around the Sherwood businesses and the neighborhood.
Got QUITE the haul! Made sure to play lots of Monopoly Deal and even Scattergories this week for "candy stakes."
Not sure why it's so blurry...but I love this. Marli was sure POUNDING AWAY! haha!
Just a glimpse of our normal nighttime routine that I want to hold onto forever and ever.
I DID SOMETHING BRAVE! For a long time I've wanted to make something edible with an actual pumpkin, and Charley helped make it happen! He came home with a little pumpkin from school festivities. After much deliberation and "Pinterest research," we decided the little pumpkin would BEST fulfill it's pumpkin-y potential by becoming a chocolate chip pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting. IT WAS DELIGHTFUL. AND SO MUCH EASIER than I had built it up in my mind to be.
Evan calls this her "Grandma outfit," but I think it's ADORABLE! THANK YOU, GRAMMY, for saving it for us to try!
Our weekend routine usually involves at least one night of this - ice cream and snuggling whilst watching a show or movie on the iPad. And yes. Mine is the one DRENCHED in coconut oil/dark chocolate magic shell. It's pretty much the reason I even eat ice cream.
Got out for a long run on Saturday and it was THE PERFECT FALL WEATHER. Not to mention I felt THE COOLEST in my brand new beautiful shoes... Also got out for a quick game of bowling, where I'm pretty sure Evan bowled the BEST GAME OF HIS LIFE. He scored 131...I don't think I broke 50...so I definitely lost THAT bet...hehe
Evan took us girls to one of his favorites for wings - a restaurant in downtown Portland called Fire on the Mountain. We had salad with the wings, and we learned that Marli LOVES mandarin oranges.
HOW IS THIS HAPPENING ALREADY?!! She's been starting to pull herself up on all things everywhere AND TIME IS MOVING ALTOGETHER TOO FAST!
As I've been brainstorming Thanksgiving Day foods to try to bring to our festivities this year, I came across this online and oh it made me laugh!! Wouldn't this be so much less work?!! hahaha
Here's to another day, another week...trying to soak in the last of these fall days with a little more mindfulness and SLOWING DOWN. Can't believe we'll be back in Rexburg in less than 2 months from now...
