WHAT A CRAZY last few months...hence my break in journaling. My health began declining pretty significantly again with my pregnancy, and my doc in NC wanted to hospitalize me. As we contemplated what a hospitalization would mean for our little family - especially while Evan was still in school - we began to wonder if it would be better to return home to Oregon for the remainder of my pregnancy. As we were trying to make that decision, Evan - bless his heart - helped us solidify our decision. He tore his ACL, MCL, and meniscus while playing church ball (and on a CARPET COURT?! WHYYY???).
As timing would have it, this little church ball game ALSO happened the morning before Evan's white coat ceremony, so Evan's parent's happened to be in town (*cue the angels singing*). I AM SO GRATEFUL for them and their help! They got to meet Fred and Kit and our neighbors and go trick-or-treating with us and PLAY ROOK and eat one of the SEVEN CONTAINERS OF TILLAMOOK THEY BROUGHT US...and then help us figure out rides to the hospital and insurance stuff once Evan tore his leg! So grateful.
Since we were a bit worried about my going into labor at the same time as Evan's surgery (it was recommended to us that we have the surgery done in December...go figure...), we decided it would just be best if we were at home. So back to Oregon we came! AND WHAT A MONTH! We have been SO full off gratitude for the help of family. I could not have survived this month without them. My angels!
I'll just dump a bunch of pictures from the past couple of months below...and then I'll post a more detailed account of our sweet Lyla June's birth story next. Definitely not a day I want to forget.

Another 10 minute study break. Ice cream outside in October.
WHAT IS THIS MAGICAL PLACE?!
Lots of library trips.
This was all her idea.
Highlight of our month. By far.
Fred and Kit treated us to a pumpkin patch.
Marli LOVED IT.
Mining for gemstones
Fred and Kit got QUITE the workout going up and down these stairs OVER AND OVER.
They love Marli.
Kit ran alongside this tractor "train" to make sure Marli wouldn't jump out.
She LOVES the neighbor boys!
Ward trunk-or-treat!
A bumblebee
Her beekeeper
And the "hive" (with baby bee inside!)
Holidays are SO MUCH MORE FUN with this girl!
NOVEMBER
Grandma and Grandpa King spoil us.
While Evan studied, the rest of us went to get nails done!
Marli did so much better than I anticipated!
Just a few hours after tearing up his leg...
So beyond grateful for their help.
The timing of their arrival was divine.
Think she has the Moore "indecision" gene??
I love her.
Lots of time spent on the bathroom floor and the couch this month...
Art projects in highchairs helps mama get her work done.
A feather a day...
Marli thought of Mason, baby, and pasta by herself.
Goodies dropped off by Fred and Kit when they heard my health was declining.
Kit spoiled me with several steamed Asian potatoes.
When I told my mom, she made sure to have several waiting in Oregon for me.
I LOVE THEM, even post pregnancy.
At airport, getting ready to fly to Oregon.
Surprise goodie bag from neighbors with new book, stickers, and snacks.
HUGE blessing.
SO HARD TO KEEP UP WITH HER.
She raced on these for a FULL half hour during our layover.
Home at last.
Snuggled right in with "Pum-pum"
Hard day? Watch THIS.
Loves getting "skins"
Just like dada

A blessing, I know.
But I still don't like them.
